Why is the Virgin Mary’s House in Turkey?

Marie de Mandat-Grancey, the benefactress of the centre, often stayed in the grounds, taking care of the design and management as well as welcoming visitors and pilgrims.
The material evidence for the existence of a tradition placing the tomb of Mary in Jerusalem is the basilica erected above the sacred spot in Gethsemane, about the turn of the 4th and 5th centuries. This single-story house is a shrine, called Meryemana Evi, translated as “the House of Mother Mary” in Turkish. The original two-stored house consisted of an anteroom (where today candles are proposed), bedroom and praying room and a room with fireplace. The House of the Virgin (Meryemana in Turkish), located in a nature park between Ephesus and Seljuk, is believed to be the last residence of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus.

However, it’s important to keep certain simple facts in mind before choosing to move up to the sport of table tennis as a serious club player. Table tennis is an extremely racket-sensitive sport and dependent not only on your own playing style but your opponent’s as well. Even many advanced players, let alone newcomers, have absolutely no clue whatsoever about the complexity of modern rackets. Our program for developing a player’s table tennis skill has three levels. Each level consists of four one-hour education sessions, and player progress is evaluated through four multiple choice quizzes, a skills test, and a cumulative multiple choice exam.

The skills test and cumulative exam will require a passing score to unlock the next educational level. Each education level has a corresponding training package. Players use the training service to help get a passing grade on the final examinations. A recreational ping-pong player's first visit to a competitive table tennis club can be daunting. There are youngsters whose shoulders barely clear the tabletop hitting forehand topspin balls at astonishing velocity and octogenarians whose skill with long pips rubber makes the ball seem to defy the laws of physics. Many of us grew up playing ping-pong in a basement or garage, with a recreational or even homemade table and hard rubber pips out paddles from Sears.
Each player serves two points in a row and then the service switches to the other player. However, if a score of is reached in any game (deuce), then each server serves only one point at a time until one player wins two points in a row. In the final game (i.e., 5th game of a 3/5 match), the players switch sides again after EITHER player reaches 5 points and then play resumes as normal. Now the club and academy are working to provide an educational environment for everyone.
There is no reason to quit coming to our club after just few days or weeks or even few months. Most serious club table tennis players understand how complex table tennis is and don’t think of you as any less of an athlete or a person even if you keep losing to most other club players for years to come. Most are more than willing to help you nonetheless, in every way possible to improve your skill level, regardless of whether you are an absolute beginner or even an advanced player. Even if you are not interested in spending lots of money on equipment, you can get a good “basic” setup for less than $100 that can last for years.
